Four month old Billy is truly as adorable as his picture! Rescued by a Good Samaritan, he weighs about 40 perfect pounds and has had loads of loving and attention. Our volunteer who brought Billy to us fell in love with him: "Look at the tip of his tail - it's blurry! When the vet went to take him from me, I lifted his chin to me and kissed the top of his nose. I tried to tell him to be a good boy and that we would find him the best home, but he was too busy smothering me with mucho-smoochos to listen to some crazy human. The last view I had was of him prancing away, almost on tippy toes the way puppies do, his tail in the air, wildly swinging back and forth, the way Labbies do, so confident, socialized, cute . . ."
Puppies, while adorable, are not for everyone. Think carefully if your lifestyle has room for the extraordinary responsibility of raising a puppy. Do you truly have time for the daily nurturing and constant supervision required? Do you mind piddles on your floor, chewing on your things and, before you know it, a “teenage puppy” with ideas of his own? The proper handling and socialization of a puppy are critical to their development into a well adjusted adult. As he grows Billy will require your steady, kind leadership, commitment to his training and rely on you for his extensive daily exercise needs.
If you would like Billy, a “dog to be”, to consider your application, please tell us why your home would be suitable for a puppy in the comments section of your application.
Billy will only be placed in a home with (1) adults or older children who can treat a dog with kindness and respect and (2) one that clearly has the dedication and substantial time throughout the day to devote to raising a puppy to responsible adulthood.
In addition to the adoption fee, there is a required $200 neuter deposit refundable upon proof of neuter . Your will be required to sign an Adoption Agreement.
