He’s a senior, but he’s still got lots of life left. His story coming to us isn’t the best but his past doesn’t define him. He came to us with Marcus, hit by a car, taken to a high kill shelter where he sat for 8 days - no treatment, no care, then scheduled to be euthanized, but he came to us. He arrived at our vet with a temp of 106, and horrible skin infection from urine scald - his biggest injury or need for treatment wasn’t from being struck by a car but the lack of care he received. NOW he’s on the up and up. He does have some medical issues due to his age/breed - arthritis and LS disease…. He has medication to manage that. His skin and coat are a work in progress from the urine scale and infection, so he needs some patience and understanding there…. Show some grace if he smells like corn chips, his skin is still healing, but he’s still just as handsome. He’s a homebody that’s quiet and just likes his peace. He hasn’t been introduced to cats but he has been and lived with other dogs. He’s not altered (neutered) and isn’t cleared to be from the vet. He is HW positive which we will treat, but don’t worry it’s not contagious to other animals. He is estimated to be between 8-10 years old.
