He is such a gentleman that his foster mom is calling him Bertram-just to make him sound a bit more distinguished.
Bertram is going to make a GREAT sidekick for one lucky adopter! He will lie peacefully at your feet and then accompany you on a long walk with a bounce in his step. You'd never guess his age without looking at his papers.
Bertram is being fostered in a home with multiple dogs, as well as two young, curious and pushy cats. He has been laid back with all, but he would prefer a forever home where he can curl up in his dog bed without being pestered by a cat. An aloof cat who ignores him might be okay.
Bertram is housetrained, and he'll let you know when he has to go out with a very cute little whine and lots of tail wagging!
Bertram is quiet, sweet, and he seems VERY adaptable. He just wants to be loved in his golden years, and he expects to have a lot of life left to enjoy!
Bertram would probably do best in a moderately active adult home, in which he could accompany someone to the office or be home with someone most of the day. He would thrive with a long brisk walk or two a day, in between naps, of course. He would probably make a great travel buddy.
Young children would probably not be a suitable match for a dog of Bertram's size and maturity. He has met visiting kids, ranging in age from 4-17. He was basically indifferent to them.
Bert is a SWEET dog who still has plenty of energy for adventures and a lifetime of cuddles to offer--he's an easy keeper and a kind soul. Please give him a chance for love he's never had before!
