Benji's foster mom has started some basic obedience training. He understands some simple commands, like sit and come, and he sleeps in his crate without a fuss. He likes toys, but doesn't appear too interested in chewing things he shouldn't. He is super smart and food motivated.
Ideally, Benji's forever person or family would be able to invest some time into positive training to help him become a happier canine citizen. His foster mom has been giving him treats and showering him with praise whenever new people come into the home, and that strategy seems to be working. Most of all, he needs a calm, consistent environment so he can work up the courage to come out of his shell. Once he trusts you, he'll love you forever!
As Benji is quite nervous of other dogs, he will need to be an only dog. His new owners will need to be committed to continued socialization with other dogs and new situations in order for him to overcome his fears.
