Benji (IV)

Benji responds well to patience and kindness and is now much more comfortable in his foster home. He can be very cuddly and loving when he knows the people approaching him but he does go on the defensive when he feels threatened. He allows his foster mom to pick him up and hug him and will sit on a lap if the human picks him up but he prefers to be on the floor and he finds a quiet spot to hang out. He is generally quiet and laid back. He is very smart and knows how to sit when asked.He is an easy dog to share a home with and could be a lovely pet in an adults-only home.

Benji has TONS of potential, he is so young and needs an experienced dog person to help train and guide him away from the "dark side".

Here is what his Foster Mom has to say about him...

Benji is a one year old neutered male Shih Tzu /Poodle cross ( indicatd on his medical papers) but he is quite sturdy in the body and head so he may actually be a Lhasa Apso cross.Benji is sweet and playful with dominant adults but has displayed aggression to children in the past so he should not be exposed to children in his new home.

He has been bounced around a bit recently and he is not comfortable with changes. When he is stressed he will take refuge in his crate to regroup. He has the potential to be a fear biter so he needs a patient loiving family who will be committed to working with him to give him a sense of security and a place in the world.

Benji is a dog that would benefit from formal training to make him the best pup that he can be. Benji also has a chronic ear infection that is being treated. Now here is Benji, to give you his stats...
