Ben (Benny) is a 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier and true to his heritage he is a “big dog in a small package”: He is highly energetic, brave and an excellent watchdog.

We are looking for a home for Benny where someone truly understands and values the Terrier temperament and has first hand experience with this type of breed.

Benny will thrive in a home where there are not a lot of comings and goings and where outside activities such as hiking and long walks are not only occasional weekend activities but also part of the daily routine.

Given adequate daily exercise, Benny loves nothing better then to snuggle up beside you on the couch or play with his stuffed toys.

Benny is able to share a home with a ‘bullet proof’ older dog of a slower moving and larger breed as he tends to get easily overexcited with dogs that are too active or hyper. He forms very strong bonds quickly and easily, but can get jealous of the other dogs in the home at times, so he currently lives with 3. New dog to dog encounters must be encouraged under controlled conditions.

This little guy is fantastic off-leash, comes when called and always checks back in after short excursions into the bush. He would probably excel in agility training or trick training, as he is eager to do almost anything that will give him positive attention.
