My Story

Ben is a wonderful dog with a heart of gold. He has so much love to give. He just needs that special family to help him along so he can live to his fullest potential. Please do not apply unless fully prepared to take on his needs. Ben is a sweet deformed little dude. His deformities seem to cause him no pain but due to them he can randomly pee and poop. Wearing a belly band/diaper solves this problem. Ben will also require regular professional grooming. When Ben was first found, his hair was so overgrown and matted that no one could figure out if he was a boy or girl. His current haircut is not his best look but we hope that it can be maintained better once some spots grow back. Ben is still very nervous around all new people. He would do best in a calmer home in which any children are 13 years old or older. Looking into Ben's eyes we know he has a story to tell us and we know it won't be good. He is a survivor of a sad past. He will need a very patient person to understand it will take some time for him to warm up to you. He is still learning how to walk well on a leash. He is very unsure of such a contraption as well as unsure why a human would be following him around. The real world is all new to him. Other dogs give Ben great comfort. He follows his foster siblings around everywhere. He needs the security of a stable dog to help him trust humans. Another playful and friendly dog in the home would help him to succeed. Ben would be happy to meet up if you are interested. Ben’s new life is just around the corner, we wonder if it could with you? If you are interested in adopting Ben and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and K9 will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
