This beautiful girl is Belle, a New Orleans-bred beauty who was born during the worst of Hurricane Katrina. She is a marvelous little girl -- sturdy, even-tempered and remarkably pretty. Her wavy coat suggests some sort of terrier, or perhaps a poodle, but we suspect that for her adopter, speculating concerning what mix of breeds combined to make this marvelous little creature will be part of the joy of living with Belle.
Belle and her siblings have been raised in foster care alongside their mom, Nola, a Chow/Canaan mix. We haven't the faintest idea about dad; he left before the pups were born. Belle's foster is a skilled trainer, and it shows in this little girl's behavior. She is working diligently on housetraining, knows "sit" and "here" and is marvelously socialized. She likes other dogs and was wonderful with the school-aged children she spent Thanksgiving with.
Belle's adoption fell through due to no fault of her own, so in case you are wondering why this incredibly pretty little girl is still on the market, it's just one of those things.
