08/22/08 Bella is a very sweet Chihuahua mix. We are guessing that she is about 1 year old, she is 16 pounds and is brindle in coloring. She was turned into the Wayne County Animal Shelter as a stray but was terrified of people, so she was probably not treated kindly by her previous family. She is a little intimidated by new situations but once she figures out that she is with good people that will love her unconditionally, she really comes out of her shell. She loves to cuddle with her foster mom and dad in bed or on the sofa and will follow them around the house just waiting for a pat or a scratch. She plays very well with other dogs and loves to chew on her Nylabone. She is doing very well with her potty training. She had a few accidents when she first came home from the shelter but I think that was mainly because she was scared and didn't know the appropriate place to use the bathroom. She has not had any accidents in several days and she has only been in a foster home for less than a week so she is learning quickly.
Bella is scheduled to be spayed in the next two weeks, after that she will be ready for her forever home and ready to find a permanent cuddle partner. She would make a wonderful companion for anyone who is looking for a sweet cuddly dog that just wants to be loved on.
