My Story

NEW BIO!! Meet Beetle Bailey! Little Bailey was rescued from a cruelty bust in Oklahoma this winter. Bailey doesn't let his past get him down; he's the sweetest mellow dog you'll ever meet! Bailey is housebroken (amazing!), knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. He's a petite guy weighing in around 40 lbs. If you're looking for a couch potato dog, Bailey's your guy. His foster dad says he prefers quieter areas, but will gladly tuck himself under you and snuggle on the couch. He's good with most other dogs, but has yet to meet any cats.

Bailey has a fabulous personality, a calm and balanced temperament, and is content to just go with the flow. His ideal day would be spent lounging around the house with his family and a brief walk in the evening to smell the flowers. Bailey is a lucky guy and would love to have a forever family to spend time with.

Please contact Katie at [email protected] for more information about Bailey.

Original Bio: Onyx is one of the 11 dogs we brought back from Newkirk, Ok.

Onyx is possibly one of the most loveable dogs I have ever met. As long as he is sitting close enough to touch you and you are petting him, this boy is in heaven. The next best thing for him, is getting to sit outside in the sun (but he will share the space in front of the door with his foster sisters if it is too cold outside.) He doesn't understand why I can't stand to be outside with him when it is only 20 degrees outside! Unfortunately, he is used to this.

The only proof that Onyx was ever part of that ugly world in Oklahoma, are the scars on his face. He holds no grudge. He actually still prefers men to women, not that he doesn't have love for all, but he is definitely a "man's man."

Onyx started his training the day after he was brought home. He has been doing wonderful! He is heeling, sitting, coming when he is called, and he loves to shake your hand (well, when HE feels like it.) We only had a couple of accidents in the beginning, but those are all in the past now. He is slowing starting to figure out that his two foster sisters are here to love him too. He has to re-learn how to be around other dogs, we are taking it slowly, and that is working out well for all. All three are now able to go on walks together and do really well.

Meal time is still something he isn't too sure about. He really doesn't have much interest in food. We are working on that, and getting him some more meat on his bones.

Did I mention that he talks? Well, ok, not really like you and I talk, but in his own, adorable, grunting way, he definitely talks to you. One of the most beautiful noises to my ears these days.

There has yet to be a human that has met him, that has not fallen in love with him.

Won't you take the time to meet him, and maybe make your home, his forever home?
