Bear in ME

"Bear" was an owner surrender at a Columbia, TN shelter due to his family having to move into housing that does not allow pets. According to the surrendering owners, "Bear" is a 1.5 year old Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix. Around 70lbs. He is super sweet and gentle. "Bear" has an awesome temperament and is very calm. His temperament definitely takes after the Golden side of his heritage. He loves attention and is very affectionate. When he is in his kennel he presses up against the door asking for a rub on the head. Each and every time the volunteers interact with "Bear", he has been nothing but fantastic!! He was sweet and gentle with the volunteers little girl who was taking his pictures. Hannah (the girl in the picture) played with Bear and was all over him. He was wonderful with her. He let her lead him on the leash and never once pulled on her. He is one sweet boy!!!! He would be a great dog for any family. We don't know about cats, but in the shelter when he goes in the cat adoption section, he doesn't pay attention to them at all. This is what the volunteer wrote about him and Hannah: "I got so tickled at Bear Sunday when we were at the shelter. Hannah was sitting in the floor playing with Bear and he did all he could to try and sit in her lap. Finally, he realized, there just was not room and laid his head in her arms. He is such a love and has one heck of a personality. Hannah had the greatest time with him, she lead him around, sat with him, laid her head on him, kissed him on the nose....I have to say, Bear is one fantastic boy!!! At one point Bear was stretched out in the floor and Hannah was using him for a pillow! LOL They both had the greatest time together. I felt very comfortable letting them two play together....I knew he'd be the perfect angel. I am so happy your rescuing him. Thank you : ) Your getting a wonderful boy."

Bear is scheduled to arrive in Maine on March 1st, but please apply now, as he will be adopted quickly.
