....ADOPTED! 3/28/08....Baxter is a fabulous 7 year old 19 pound wire-haired Dachshund. If you're looking for a dog with an exceptionally attentive, easygoing, social personality, then Baxter is your boy! Such a sweet friendly dog. The only reason Baxter came into rescue is because his owner had a baby and no longer had time for this great dog. Baxter gets along famously with other dogs, cats, kids, and adults. The pictures don't do Baxter justice, he's actually a very handsome, long-bodied, short-legged pooch with charming eyebrows and head-hair spurts. The picture of Baxter in the grass was taken shortly after his eyebrows and head-hairs were shaved off (that's why he looks different than in the other pics)
