Barry will be attending our Meet and Greet event this Saturday, 8/10, at the Refinery Hotel (63 W 38th St., NYC) from 12-3pm.
Barry is an 8-year-old, 20-pound male schnauzer / terrier mix from Alabama.
Barry is a very smart, easygoing, funny boy. This southern boy has had a seamless transition moving to New York. He doesn't mind the city's noises, crowds of people or doing his business on only paved options. He loves to go for walks and in excitement will grunt like a pig and hop like rabbit but calmly walks on the leash like a well-behaved dog.
He becomes an explorer on his walks, stopping to smell all the scents of the city, saying hi to every dog that passes and will look up at you to check in. Some of his favorite things to do while walking around the city, are visiting stores, walking through parks and stopping into coffee shops (everyone that he passes).
While at home, he returns to his favorite spot on a blanket and likes to snuggle up with his foster sister's unicorn pillow and will pawat you for pet head rubs. While lounging, he will occasionally pick his head up, look up at you with his soulful eyes and then belt out a loud groan.
He will do well in a low-key home that shares his love for walks as a solo dog or with another low-key dog.
We have not seen Barry with cats but likley would be ok if introduced properly. He would do well with older children.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Barry, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
