Barney

Barney is a handsome 12-year-old and is tri-colored. Barney's previous owner had cancer so he and his Border Collie buddy were taken to Cobb County Animal Control because she couldn't take care of them any longer. He is very spry for his age and you'd never guess he's 12. He's neutered, housetrained, and has had his shots and microchipping. His teeth were in awful shape and Barney experienced alot of pain - especially when eating. Now that he's had a dental cleaning, he feels so much better - like a different hound - and he enjoys crunchy treats and even acorns in the yard! Barney is very active and friendly and wants/needs to be with a family where he won't be left alone for long periods. He initially had some seperation anxiety as he grieved for his owner, but he's over that now and adores his foster family. Barney behaves fine with other dogs, and plays with hounds half his age. But he loves to bark at cats, so we'd strongly recommend a cat-free home. He did test positive for heartworms but has now completed treatment and feeling like the awesome dog he is.
