My Story

ADOPTED! Lying in pain in a Tennessee shelter for three long weeks, Barney waited in vain for his owner to claim him. Finally, the humane society released him to our rescue program so that he could receive the medical care that he needed. While the original cause may never be known, it appears that Barney had a bone infection in his right front leg. He has just now finished a three month course of antibiotics, and an x-ray of the bone shows that it is healing beautifully. He shows no signs of lameness, and his doggie friends have a hard time keeping up with him! Barney's eyes look like pools of melted chocolate, and he is just that sweet! He gets along well with other dogs and cats, and he thrives on cuddling and love. He absolutely adores people (especially children)! We are hoping to find an adopter who can spend a fair amount of time with him each day to give him lots of attention and to help him finish up his housetraining. Give us a call (or e-mail us) if you are interested in learning more about this sweet-as-chocolate fellow. Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
