Barkley & Penelope

There have been great couples through out history, Marc Anthony and Cleopatra, Samson and Delilah, Bonnie and Clyde, well now meet Penelope and Barkley.

It was love at first sight! Penelope Paws and Barkin Barkley met at a foster home in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was immediately drawn to this little petite beauty. He didn't see her stained, sore feet or her dirty little body and she didn't see his floppy ears and big square face. He saw a beauty and she saw a handsome man. They fell in love for what was inside. Penelope Paws is a small little lady who has stood in her own urine and feces for so long that her little feet were swollen and stained with large sores between her toes. Barkin Barkley had never been around people or noises and was so scared that he barked at every little noise. They found each other and their happiness began. Both dogs are now very loving and always want to be around people and be held. Barkley has become so loving and friendly that nothing scares him so he doesn't bark hardly at all, except at strangers. He also has learned how to chase his tail and it brings tears to your ears to see a grown 3 year old man chasing his own tail and jumping straight into the air to try to catch it. Penelope is a little more lady like and doesn't chase her tail but she sure can put Barkley on his back growling and snarling as they play. They make an odd pair these two but they don't mind a bit. They play for hours on end with each other and sleep in the same crate at night. They are working hard on their house training and want so much to be loved by humans. These two need to be adopted together, after all who could break up such a couple?!! Please see if there is enough room in your westie heart for this pair. They are good little doggies and love to be hugged and cuddled. Can you find it in your heart to give them a good forever home? Please adopt them soon, they are ready to start their new life journey now that they have found each other, they can't wait to explore the new world of humans and human kindness.

Oklahoma Westie Rescue will only adopt to applicants who reside within the following states: OK, AR, MO, KS and TX. If you live outside these areas OR if you have children under the age of 10, please do not apply for these dogs.

We do not ship our pets. If you are interested in these dogs please click here for our adoption application. Be prepared to travel to Tulsa, OK, or Oklahoma City, OK, to pick up these dogs in person if your application is approved.
