My Story

Update August 18, 2009: Banjo, a small Lhasa Apso mix weighing in at about 20 lbs, has arrived at his foster home in Maine. He is settling in well. Here's what his foster mom has to say: He's very sweet, happy and calm. He's great on leash and obviously does not want to lose sight of his human. He has no food aggression and is great with my cats. He sleeps good all night and today, while left alone baby gated in the kitchen, he had no accidents! His house training is sure to come quickly as he is such a smart boy. He didn't mind a bath at all and loves belly rubs.

Banjo has had it rough in his short life. He is looking to be the love of someone’s life and as such, we have decided, he just cannot go to anyone less than spectacular!! He deserves it after all he has suffered. Looking for a fenced yard with no small children for this little guy please.

We included pre-shave pics of Banjo so you can see just how adorable he is. But, he was so embarrassed in his naked state, he didn’t want to ham it up for the camera. It isn’t the best haircut in the world, but its temporary and was necessary. He will grow back and be just as cute as ever!!

Dogs Name: _____Banjo________________________ original shelter given

History: Found by the side of the road, dehydrated and dying. Picked up by a concerned citizen, who could not keep him once he was somewhat back on his feet. Turned into local shelter in AR in July 09. Hair/coat/nails in terrible condition, matted and with maggots in the mats. Had to be shaved to his skin.

Age: 2 *estimate Breed(s): lhasa mix *guesstimate Weight: approx. 20 pounds

Affection tendencies: *Asks to be pet *Demands attention *Occasionally *Socialized: not fearful of new situations Is this dog a Flight Risk?___________no________________________

Banjo has a very sweet demeanor despite all he has been through. He will need attention to good nutrition and coat care. From the dogs perspective: My perfect home would be: Someplace that I would be spoiled for life..and of course get plenty of attention.
