Like I said, it was a busy rescue weekend. I was at BARC on Sunday giving treats to the dogs. It is so hard to see all of the sweet loving dogs and cats that desperately need a loving home to go to. I want to take them ALL home, and would if I could. Sweet Bambi caught my eye. She was curled up in the corner of her kennel and would not even come to me for a treat. She was so frightened. I picked her up and took her out of the kennel and to the bright sunny outside. Immediately her personality changed. Her little tucked tail came up and started wagging. She was giving kisses and wanting to play. Bambi had been at BARC since August. It is amazing that she survived so long without getting sick or put-down.
So you can guess the rest. I could not put Bambi back in the kennel. Instead she went with me to my car and far away from BARC. With no more room at my house, I solicited the help of my mother and her husband. Sweet little Bambi spent the night at their house. Bambi is an absolute sweetheart. She loves playing with their 4 dogs, walks well on a leash, has had no accidents in the house, and slept all night without a peep. We named her Bambi, as she looks like a little deer. Bambi has been spayed and received all of her vaccinations and she is micro-chipped. She is approx 8 months old and weighs 30 pounds.
