My Story

Bambi was at the North Central shelter and needed immediate rescue. The Paw’d Squad, along with Best Friends Animal Society, arranged for her to be released from the shelter and into immediate foster care. Bambi has a condition known as carpal luxation/flexion syndrome. She has swollen joints and underdeveloped muscles in her front legs. This condition was caused by inadequate nutrition at her previous “home”. Our vet assures us that with proper nutrition, moderate exercise and lots of sunshine, Bambi’s legs will strengthen and she will lead a normal active life. Bambi does not know that she needs to “take it slow” and she is ready to wrestle and run with the other puppy in her foster home. She gets along great with all dogs but because of her condition we think a home with older children who will understand her need for R&R would be best. Another dog would be great, but again, her exercise must be moderated for now. She will be about 40 pounds when full grown. Bambi will be spayed prior to adoption.
