My Story

Bailey is the sweetest girl and has never met a stranger! Originally saved by rescue after she was run over and her owners couldn't afford to help her, she eventually had to have one of her legs amputated. She loves to go on walks and having three legs does not slow her down a single bit! She can jump, run, and play like any other dog. She runs right up to all houseguests to say hi and gets full body wags when she’s excited. She enjoys being outside to sun herself and is pretty mellow and relaxed most of the time. She can goof around too, and she likes to play with both human and dog companions. She is great with most dogs; however, she does not get along with older dogs and dominant dogs, and a home without cats is also best. She’s wonderful with kids. If you are interested in pursuing an adoption and you live in Texas , please complete the application (links provided below). The process includes a vet check, calling references and doing a home visit. http://www.texassleddogrescue.org/web_documents/tsdr_application.pdf or https://www.formstack.com/forms/?1632205-WX2Zb144ZP Please note the following: We rarely do out of state adoptions. (Exceptions can be discussed but will be based on previous big dog experience and will require same adoption process.) Children in the home or that visit often must be at least 6 years of age. (Exceptions can be discussed but will be based on previous big dog experience.) Adoption donation is due at the time of adoption. Puppies under 1 year are $300. Dogs 1 year to 7 years are $200 and dogs over 7 years are $150. As this is a donation, it will be non-returnable if dog is returned to rescue. Dogs are not placed on a "first come, first serve" basis but rather the best home for the dog. All dogs placed by TSDR will be: spayed/neutered vaccinated for distemper/parvo, rabies, and bordetella heartworm tested and treated if needed microchipped other vetting as deemed needed New owners will receive copies of all available vet information and must agree to keep them current on all of the above.
