Bailey's story is one that is quite sad for many reasons. We believe Bailey's story started when his owners put an ad in the paper for "free to good home" but what he got was certainly anything BUT a "good home". Bailey was taken into a rescue group that was not reputable. From there Bailey was locked in one room of a house, his nails grew long, and he was forced to live in his own excrement. Before long, the rescue brought another dog into the home--a dog that wasn't good with dogs or cats--and Bailey and a cat were attacked. (He has now healed from his injuries on his neck and-- thankfully--he should have no future problems. His hair is still growing back at this time.) At any rate, Bailey was then taken in--along with several other dogs--by a shelter, and the shelter--in turn--asked us if we could find him a loving home. We couldn't turn him away, knowing his previous history. Bailey weighs about 15 lbs. and he is an outgoing, sweet boy who seems not to hold any ill will towards people. He walks well on a leash and he just wants to be near someone and get hugs and attention. Bailey needs to feel loved, to be part of someone's family, and to never have to worry about being left or abandoned or abused. While he does fine with other dogs, he'd prefer to be an only dog so that he could receive ALL the love and attention he deserves. Bailey would love to go for a nice walk and then kick back, munch on popcorn, and watch a video with you. (He wouldn't mind, though, if you preferred to watch Law and Order. That would be fine with him too.) Do you have room for him on your sofa--or better yet--on your lap? If you are interested in learning more about Bailey, please send us a "cover letter" telling us a little about yourself so we can determine if he would be a good fit for you--and vice versa. Our e-mail address is:

Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
