My Story

Check out Baby's video clip!

Baby was more interested in belly rubs than posing, so here is our very special "upside down" Bullmastiff.

I’m a purebred Bullmastiff who is 2 years old. I have a VERY sweet and loving personality towards people, and enjoy a belly-rub more than life itself! I've spent most of my life in a backyard. Now that I’ve found myself up for adoption here, the volunteers and staff have kindly started to introduce me to the joys of leash walking and living “out and about” in the real world. I'm discovering that fetch is fun, and snuffling in the grass in the park is a real treat!

Once you have a visit with me, you'll see I have VERY crossed eyes. I’ve learned to function quite well with them and can see, but have some vision limitations to fast moving objects, etc. I also need an “eye lid” tuck – the dog equivalent to a facelift :), so I would like to have a home that could keep me for my mild surgery recovery, which is about 6 weeks long.

A “foster to adopt,” or better yet a forever home that is willing to acclimatize me to home and outdoor living, would be great. I’d prefer to be an only pet, OR in a home with another mellow male dog, and start getting the attention I’ve really wanted for a long time.

I’m quiet and lazy in the shelter office, and enjoy loafing around. I'm still a bit of a big baby inside, so kinds words and lots of love work best for me. Basically I’m a really big baby in a Bullmastiff body, taking baby steps to start enjoying all that life can offer!

Please be advised that our dogs are strays, so we do not have any background history on them. To meet any of the dogs, please visit the Vancouver Animal Shelter (VAS) at 1280 Raymur Avenue in Vancouver, or call 604-871-6888.
