My Story
Babe is approximately 3 years old in these pictures taken December 8, 2007. Her owner left her with his mom. The mom is a single mother of two and cannot afford to take care of Babe, the children, and two other small dogs. The volunteer who took the pictures of Babe found her to be a little afraid of people at first, especially men, and she was cautious towards people and would growl a bit. Once the person talked to her and told her it was OK, she soon allowed them to pet her. All of the dogs barking added to her fear we're certain.
Since she is a nervous girl, we believe that Babe would be best in a home all by herself and in a home with children older than 12. She does do fine with the two dogs and 2 children she grew up with though. Her owner does not believe she would do well with other dogs though and small children.
This is what Mom says about Babe:
I am hoping that you might be able to help me find her a truly good home with a loving family for Babe. I would love to keep her, but at this time it seems like it would benefit her more to try to find a loving family that could devote their full attention to her and love her like she deserves to be loved. I am a working mother with still 2 children at home, which they have extracurricular activities that they are involved with, school functions, etc., and I don't have all the time to devote to Babe as I know she deserves. She is a 3 year old female full-blooded brindle Boxer. She has been spayed. She is very lovable and loves to have attention all on her. She loves to play with basketballs, she has had three this year, but she seems to pop or deflate them, whichever comes first. She has also had a bowling ball, and believe it or not, she would roll that bowling ball all around the yard with nose. I live in the city limits of ****** now, which a year or two ago, it was in the country, but I have already had the police called on me due to her barking and I do not believe in putting on a muzzle on her where she could not eat or drink. She does like to bark, which I have been told Boxers like to do, but my neighbors, which are mean, do not agree with her barking. She has been hit, I think, in the past because one eye is a little bit cloudy and when I took her to the vet, they told me that someone had hit her with a metal object, but I did not see who that person was or I would have pressed charges on that person. She is such a good dog, but I think she deserves better than what I can give her right now. She needs a big, big yard to run and play in, she needs someone to think she is special, like we think do. She would make the right person such a wonderful addition to their family. If you could e-mail me back and let me know if you think you could help me, that would be great! I don't want Babe to just go to anyone, but hopefully you can help me with that. I know a lot of people out there would love to have her and give her everything she deserves and needs. Hope to hear from you soon.
Babe is housebroken and walks well on a leash.
