ADOPTED
Sammy was kicked out of the only home he has ever known for killing
a chicken.
He spent almost a month in the pound and another 4 weeks in
a boarding kennel until we could find a foster home for him.
He was very withdrawn and skittish when he first arrived in foster
but has made a lot of progress in the past few weeks.
He is showing
more interest in the day-to-day activities in the home and gets along well
with the other dogs (both male and female).
He is housebroken and in
fact has very good house manners.
He does show some food aggression towards the other male dogs so it
would be best if Sammy “dined alone” for the first few weeks if the
adoptive family has other dogs.
He also has a tendency to chew things
other than his rawhide bone (guard your flip-flops).
He is very good on leash and is working on basic commands.
Sammy loves being around children.
He practically prances when kids come over to visit.
The foster is concerned that without the proper attention he could
again become withdrawn so a family with children and a family that would
allow Sammy to be an inside-outside dog and truly become a part of the
family, is a must.
Sammy has been around toddler aged children and older children and is very good with them.
Sammy turned 2 yrs old in November 2006. He is a pure bred Anatolian, is neutered, fully vaccinated and in good health.
Sammy is in foster care in southeastern Arizona.
