Axel Breed: Shepherd mix Estimated Birthday: 12/12/2012 Weight: 45 pounds House & crate trained Meet sweet Axel. This boy is looking for a loving home where he sun bath and destuff all the toys available. Axel is mostly blind due to cataracts in both eyes, because of this he will need a yard with a fenced yard so he doesn't accidently wonder off. Axel also has a few other health conditions his adopter would need to be mindful of, he's experiencing hearing loss in his golden years, arthritis, slipped disc and a heart murmur. This sweet old man would love a calm and relaxing atmosphere where he can sunbathe and stare out of the window. Axel's past is unfortunately unknown. While we can never fully understand his past, we do know he is very wary of men. Axel is a ladies man through & through and would prefer a female caretaker and female doggy companion. - Knows his basic commands like 'sit' and 'shake' and walks lovely on leash. - Takes time to get used to strangers and needs an adopter who is willing to be patient with him as he learns to trust - You can always catch Axel with a toy in his mouth! He loves zippy paws toys and will carry his "babies" around in his mouth - Enjoys following you all around the house and just wants to be with you - Likes to snuggle on your lap or lay right up next to you!
