Ava

Meet the lovely, sweet Ava! Ava is approximately 3yo. She’s full-figured, beautiful, a very unique golden color, and has the softest haircoat. But that’s only her exterior…. she’s quite lovely on the inside, too. Ava takes cookies gently and loves to eat treats from her Wobble Kong toy. While we can’t say she loves bathes, she’s very good about them (as she is for all of the other potentially annoying things humans do to dogs). She adores snuggling with humans and looking adoringly into your eyes (she’s 70lbs, but envisions herself a 15lb lap dog). Her foster mom thinks she’d be a great emotional support dog, because when you’re with her, she makes you feel like the most important person in the world! Ava constantly checks in with her person to see if she’s doing the ‘right’ thing, she takes direction well, and is a great listener (someone could have a very rewarding time doing obedience work with her… as she’s very focused on her person). Ava enjoys quick and short-lived zoomies (followed by long naps on the couch). She’s an excellent passenger in the car (unsure about her driving skills though). She is polite, happy to meet new people, and greets folks without hesitation and appropriately. She’s not much of a barker. She loves long sniffing-based walks. She’s non-reactive when she sees other dogs, cats, and even goats. She’s also cat friendly (she’s lived with cats). We’d like her to go to an only-dog home if possible… at least to start. Ava is ready and waiting (like yesterday!) to be your very best friend. She just wants a human family she can count on to love her forever and appreciate her for the amazing friend and being that she is. She needs someone to tell her, “this is it kid, you’re absolutely perfect, and you’re finally HOME!” Ava is so gentle, soulful, trusting, and loving….she truly deserves her forever-after ending!
