Autumn

Hi my name is Autumn and I am a 17 week old Golden Retriever mix. When you think of Autumn with the leaves changing color, the cool breezes that gently whisk across your skin, the strolls through the park on a beautiful, sunny day and the gentleness of a relaxing day it brings back delightful memories that you can cherish. My life did not begin with the refreshing memories like an Autumn day but instead on a hard concrete floor in an outside kennel on a hot, dreary June day, I will spare you most of the details but I am a throw away. My previous owner did not see the gentleness that I could bring or the joy I could elicit or the delightful memories I could have surrounded them with. No, they saw a useless puppy who they no longer wanted so off to the high kill shelter for me. They brought me into the shelter, handed me to the person on duty and turned their backs as I watched them with my soulful eyes walk out the door. Never a second thought to the fate I now faced. In a day or two no one would have to worry about me because the shelter does not keep you for very long. As I sat on the concrete floor with some other pups, we would stand and wag our tails each time the door opened only to sit back down and huddle together for protection. One day a S.A.F.E. Animal Haven volunteer came through the door and that is when my day became an Autumn day. My days are filled with romping through a house, playing with my foster siblings, being fed on a regular basis, and forming memories that are joyful and happy. The one memory I am longing for is a home of my own where everyday will be like a cool, crisp Autumn day filled with kindness and lots of love. I'm ready to share my life with you and bring you all the joy and love I have - please consider giving me a forever home.
