Augustus (Gus)

Augustus, "Gus", is a strong, devoted adult pitbull/bully breed mix looking for his forever home. This resilient boy has survived being dumped with anaplasmosis (disease from ticks) and heartworm disease (from an infected mosquito), and now he deserves the loving home he's been waiting for. Gus would thrive with a loving couple who can match his strength and devotion. He loves outdoor adventures, especially hiking and swimming, making him the perfect companion for a moderate-high active lifestyle. He is a large size boy, but thinks he is a lap dog and would love to sit next to you on the couch. While Gus enjoys meeting new dogs, he prefers the company of his humans. He would do well in a home with other laid back dogs or as a single dog in the home. He's not a fan of cats, so a cat-free home is essential. Due to his strength and energy, a home without smaller-young children would be best so he does not accidentally knock them over. Gus is about 3-4 years old and weighs 65lbs.
