Audrey

My new name is Audrey and I am very proud of it!!! Miss Audrey was the first person to donate toward our release from the shelter and our heartworm treatment. Miss Audrey read about us on the website, felt real bad for us and because she loves Dals, donated to the efforts. Miss Pati was so thankful that she asked Miss Audrey to choose one of us to have her name. She chose ME! Even though I cannot hear my new name, it's music to my deaf ears. I know that someone cares about me now. Thanks Miss Audrey I am so grateful and so is the rest of my family. We don't have to worry about tomorrow now 'cause we are safe from harm and can now concentrate on getting our heartworm treatment. I am looking ahead and hoping for a lasting home where I can be treated like a princess. I have learned a lot in just the past few days of my freedom and still have a lot to learn. I was abused and am very timid and shy. I am learning how to trust people again and that will come with time. Once I gain self-esteem, I will be more relaxed. I love to receive attention, affection and like to be gently touched. Soon, I will be more accepting of it and not afraid. Although my situation is just temporary, I am so happy just to be alive, warm and fed. I could not imagine one more day in the shelter. The people were nice there and even held us for Dal Rescue, but the days were getting longer and the floor even colder. I was most afraid for little Piper, 'cause she is so very tiny and even more scared than me. My whole spotted family has not had much love and attention but we know it's something we can get used to rather quickly. We love the care we are getting now and feel so special. Once Dal Rescue can raise more money, we will get our treament started and be on our way to new lives and bright futures. Sincerely and gratefully, Audrey.
