My Story

Introducing Auburn! Auburn is a beautiful Cattle Dog / Heeler mix who is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 30 pounds. We rescued this gorgeous gal from the Hondo, TX shelter and although we don’t really know much bout he background, it is clear that people have not always been very kind to her. Auburn is a gentle and curious gal who does have a little bit of a warm-up period when meeting new people. She is very friendly but needs someone who will go slow with her so that she can feel comfortable knowing that she will be treated kindly. Once she feels safe, she loves getting attention and affection. She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup and does need a home where she has another non-dominant canine companion. She loves to run and play and would love to have another dog to help show her the ropes in her new home. She would do best in a quiet home without small children where she can get comfortable and settle in. With patience and lots of love we know Auburn will blossom and become a wonderful, loving companion to her new family. Auburn is located at our rescue near San Antonio, Texas. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. A meet and greet will be arranged with an approved application. Auburn tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
