Meet Atwood, a vibrant and playful 3-year-old dog that weighs a healthy 48 pounds. His favorite pastime is running and playing outside, where he can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Atwood is a social butterfly and loves spending time with other dogs, playing with toys, and running around. However, he is sensitive to loud noises or sudden movements. Atwood is highly motivated by both food and toys, making him easy to train and teach new tricks. He has a lot of energy, which makes him a perfect running partner, and he needs a family who can match his lively personality. Atwood is a smart dog and knows several commands such as sit, stay, come, heel, down, leave it, and wait. After a long day of playing and running, he enjoys snuggling on the couch with his human family. Atwood is neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccines, and has completed the treatment for Lyme disease. Unfortunately, we must euthanize due to illness or aggression. Adoption fees are $125 for Guernsey County adopters and $160 for dogs adopted out of Guernsey County and Cell Dogs are $175. Adoption fees do not include the dog license. This includes spay/neuter, first shots, rabies, heartworm/Lyme testing and microchip! Most dogs will be required to be spayed/ neutered before leaving shelter or an appointment will be scheduled before leaving the shelter. Please talk to shelter staff for more information. We only accept cash. We cannot take checks, debit or credit cards. You may also call the shelter between the hours of 9-5 Mon through Fri and 9-4 on Saturday, for more information and our fax number if you would like us to fax you an application. You can also visit the shelter between the hours of 11-4 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If coming from out of town, please call first to make sure the dog you are interested in is still available.
