My Story

If you love the water, love being outside, and love adventure, Athena is the perfect match for you. She is a young mixed breed that may be a lot more herding dog. She is very athletic and loves a good run around the larger yards with other dogs. The biggest thing is that Athena LOVES the water! She would lounge in a pool 24/7 if we let her. Get her a doggie life vest and spend the day on the water. Athena has Addisons Disease, a condition that affects the adrenal glands and causes hormonal imbalance in dogs. She is on daily medication and will need a monthly injection for the rest of her life. The daily medication is small, and she eats it with her breakfast, and the injection is simple enough that you can do it at home. Now that the Addisons is under control Athena is no different from any other dog. She has not been tested on cats but may be too intense for most cats. Athena does well with children but does have a tendency to herd them (really just barks at them) if they wander away from the group.
