Heartland generally serves Indiana, Kentucky and the Cincinnati areas. However we cannot cover every area. We do work with our sister and brother rescues in other areas as well. Please consider your local Sheltie rescue before applying outside your area.

Aspen is NOT. a starter dog.
He needs an experienced/authoritative owner and, likely, a job.
As handsome as he is, he is equally as intelligent.
He walks well on leash.
Aspens previously family allowed Aspen to take charge and he became very bossy. He has had behavioral modification and now is much more respectful and attentive to his human.
Aspen will not be placed in a home with children as he doesn’t do well in a high energy environment.
