My Story

Hello! My name is Aspen, I’m a 7 month old Siberian Husky and I'm looking for my forever family. Let me tell you a little about myself: I was dumped in the woods with 9 other dogs when I was just 5 months old. It was a scary time, but I've grown a lot since then. I'm still cautious around humans, so I don't really go to them for comfort. But I do allow petting, cuddling, and even holding once I get to know you. I just need a family who understands my rough start in life and can be patient with me. I absolutely love the outdoors! There's nothing better than playing in the mud and splashing in the lake with my pack. I'm a typical husky, so water is my happy place. Sometimes my foster mom finds me curled up in the toilet, taking a nap! And, just a heads up, I can be vocal, just like all huskies. My brother and I love singing to our family, even if we’re a bit off-key! I'm a smart pup and I love to be talked to. My foster mom swears I can understand her when she tells me about her day. Watching my surroundings and learning about everything around me is one of my favorite things to do. Because of my past, I prefer the company of other animals over humans, so a home with other dogs would be ideal for me. I'm looking for a home that is husky savvy and willing to be patient with me as I continue to learn and grow. If you think you could be my perfect match, I can't wait to meet you! Notes from the humans: Aspen is a special dog and requires a special home that has husky experience. Preference will be given to families that understand the nuances and challenges of adopting an abandoned pup. The DNA test of the other abandoned dogs, which we believe to be his siblings, came back as 100% Siberian Husky. His estimated date of birth is December 2023. Aspen has been fully vaccinated and has an appointment to be neutered and microchipped in September. Sterilization is a requirement of adopting through our organization and is reflected in our adoption contract, whether at our vet or yours!
