Hi, my name is Ash and I am one hunk of a black Lab! I was born around 06/08/2022. I have been in foster care my whole life. I don't know why because I promise I'm the bestest boy. Some things you should know about me: Neutered Up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives Heart worm negative Approximately 70-75 lbs Potty trained Crate trained but don't need one! Doing great learning leash skills Can sit, lay down, and stay Love playing with rope toys, running in the yard, chasing birds, and playing in the rain! A big fenced yard would be perfect! Like most Labs, I like to dig sometimes I love being brushed and belly rubs, obviously! Both hesitant and curious about men but prefer a man would be gentle and slow getting to know me Mommy's boy OR chick magnet Very social with other dogs, especially ones my size that want to play So far, I am great around older children (ages 14 & 16) I prefer to sleep next to my person at night Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport.
