Aryn

Greyhounds Unlimited received an e-mail from a local shelter that a greyhound had been released to them and was ready to be picked up by Rescue. And by the way, it is terribly emaciated. When we arrived it was apparent this was a greyhound/saluki cross. Several shelter employees and an animal control officer with a camera hovered around the dog. Looking at this pitiful creature, all a person wanted to do was give it food. She was named ARYN and off to the veteranian we went. Aryn is approximately 3 years old and weighed in at 29 pounds. Of course, she was laden with fleas, ticks, and internal parasites. After Aryn puts on some weight, she will be treated for Ehrlichia and completely vetted. It is difficult to imagine the conditions Aryn was existing in. Just look at the scars and the frail body. Today she is resting comfortably on soft pillows and a food bowl just a few feet away that she visits often (probably just checking to make cetain it is still there).
