Artemis is my name. But, my friends call me Artie. I am a 5 1/2 year old Bassett Hound who recently came to the shelter due to my loving human passing away. I was unsure and a little confused at first with my new surroundings. But, it didn't take long for the staff and I to become best of friends. A few things that I enjoy include snacks, butt scratches and walks along the perimeter of the shelter. My favorite game is called "what's that smell". I am a natural at this. With ears like mine I have the potential to be a great listener without passing judgement. But will make sure I am heard when I have something to say with my Woo Woo Wait a minute comment. The staff is learning more and more about me with each passing day. I am a bit dominant and like to have my way....so a home without children under 12 would be a better fit for me. I have never lived with another dog....But I don't seem bothered by other dogs at the shelter. I am not a fan of cats...so a no cat household for me. A fenced yard would be excellent as I like to follow my nose.
