My Story

Oklahoma dogs are not available to adopters who live in an apartment. This chunky monkey is Arthur and he's as smart as he is cute! He is a Great Pyrenees cross. He looks and acts like a Pyr but his coloring isn’t, so we're not sure if he has some Newfie or maybe Border Collie mixed in. Either way he's a super fun-loving, social love-bug that will make a great family dog! Arthur is crate trained, 99% house trained and learning all his indoor manners. Arthur is looking for a home where he'll be part of the family. He'd do well in about any home setting. He's good with other dogs or as a single dog; good with kids but should be limited to 7yrs and older just because of his size and clumsiness. Arthur loves water and toys, and just about anything the family is doing, he wants to be apart of. He's full of personality and never short on kisses! To apply for adoption please complete the adoption application at www.nationalpyr.org Out of state adopters are welcome, but please be prepared to travel to Tulsa to complete the adoption as we don't transport dogs. NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. Oklahoma dogs are not available to adopters who live in an apartment.
