My Story

Hi! Meet the new and improved Arthur. My first foster mom put me on a diet and now I am a lot happier at 90 pounds than I was at 108. I love to go on walks...2 or 3 short walks a day is perfect for me. As a matter of fact, my new foster mom and dad laugh because I jump, spin and sometimes boof because I am so excited to go. My foster family takes me to their cabin and I ride great in the car. I actually like the car so much that sometimes they let me just sit in the back of the SUV with the door up when they are outside. And I don't mean to brag... but my foster family has told me many times that I am one of the best OES they ever had and I know they've had a bunch. I never potty in the house, I come when they call, I bark very little and I give really good sheepie kisses. If you can give me a good home and lots of love, I will guarantee you tons of love in return. P.S. And that other thing I used to do (that rhymes with Art and Artie), is pretty much a thing of the past now that I am healthier. ___________________________________________________________________ Hi! My name is Arthur - but the foster mom calls me "Slim". I think she's teasing -- she tells others I need to lose a bit 'o weight. I have other names I like to be called too - like 'Artie' and 'Art'. And you know what that rhymes with!! I do that sometimes too. shhh!
I weigh 108 lbs! Woahly lotsa' sheepdog, Batman!! And you guessed it - the mean ol' foster mom has me on a diet.

I lived with the same family for all 10 years of my life, growing up with children, another dog and a cat too. I'm a really nice, friendly, well rounded (no pun intended) kinda' dude.
My family was very sad when we had to say good-bye because they raised me since I was just a pup. But y'see a really crummy thing happened to my family - something called the e-con-o-my made it impossible for them to keep me. I don't know what that means to others but to me it means I need to find a new place to hang my leash.

Now I am in foster care where I enjoy the company of a family who has other sheepdogs, teenagers, cats and a Shih Tzu!
I really like walks and am great on a leash. I walk well both with or without other dogs.
I also like to play interactively with my foster family and the other dogs outside -- I like to bounce and boof at the same time! I'm very good at play-bowing and bouncing.
I like to nap at your feet or on a cozy rug during the day or evening. At bed time I like a dog bed - but even a snuggly warm blanket would do. They tell me I snore. Huh? I don't THINK so!
I like car rides, getting brushed while watching TV, nummy treats from the drive-up teller, chasing flexible fliers and playing hide-and-go-seek.

I know some tricks like "sit" and "shake" and I can show you exactly where your refrigerator is!!
I especially like green beans and carrots. It's a darn good thing my foster family grew a good crop of veggies last summer. (:

Two of the photos of me were taken at Doggy Daycare where I get to meet other dogs and cats too! There's another picture of me paving my very own path through the big snow! shhhh! It's not as big as meee !! (:

Oh! And even though I'm big as a small cow (that's what the mean ol' foster mom says) -- I am as gentle as a lamb.

Might you be the new family that is looking for a big boy like me who has lots of love to share with you?

I can be adopted in the Twin Cities, MN and bordering towns in WI.
