Arnold

Arnold is an American Bulldog mix who weighs 88 pounds. American Bulldogs are not English Bulldogs or Pit Bull Terriers. He’s a big boy, true to his breed qualities, including loyalty, confidence, intelligence and athletic ability. Arnold is also outgoing, friendly and big-hearted, and loves being with people. Playtime and long walks are important - though he also enjoys his afternoon naps. When excited Arnold can bounce in place 2 feet high and act very silly especially during playtime. His enthusiasm is infectious and really fun to experience. Fetch and tug are favorites for Arnold - he puts up a great contest especially when playing tug. He’ll follow your cues during training and when you’re ready to throw a ball again and again. Arnold has come a long way with loose leash walking and is able to walk with a standard buckle collar. At times he turns around to face our handlers during long walks on our trails and jumps in place just to say hello. American Bulldogs were originally working dogs bred to be farm guardians and drive livestock. They were predominately found in the Southern US. Given their size, strength and working ability, American Bulldogs need an experienced owner. Arnold would do best as an only dog (he ignores some dogs but can be reactive to others). Older children (teenager+) would be best. Compatibility with cats is unknown, but he does have some prey drive that should be considered. If interested in meeting Arnold, we are open daily 12-5pm.
