My Story

Meet handsome Aries! He is looking for his forever home. Aries had a little bit of a rough start in life. His original owners didn't understand the responsibility and commitment of dog ownership. They had Aries living outside 24/7. He was never really loved or given the opportunity to socialize properly. He has adjusted to homelife remarkably well and thankfully through foster, he is learning what it means to be loved. He is approximately 26 months old and completely house trained. He is a great communicator. He loves to tell you what he needs, whether it be a walk, play or potty. We are also working on bell training for going outside. He still has A LOT of puppy energy. He could run for miles! He loves learning new things. Give him a task and a reward and he's all in. Due to his lack of socialization Aries is still nervous meeting new people and barks to ease his fear. He is doing great with the "no Bark" command. He is NOT aggressive. He's just letting you know he's a bit uncomfortable. Patience and understanding are all he needs to adjust to the situation. In his foster home he has shown that he is very easily trained and is very social. He is very smart and has mastered sit, stay, leave it, down, touch, place and let's go. Come is hit or miss. But if you have a treat in your hand he is right under your feet. Definitely food driven. He is currently working on cage training. He walks on a leash easily. He gets along well with other dogs. Probably best to avoid a house with cats as his prey drive is high. He would do well in a home with a dog that can match his energy level. He would love a home with a tall fenced in yard.. Children over 13 would be best for him. Anyone considering Aries would need to be committed to the process. Over the last eight months he is not the same dog as when he was surrendered. He is going to make a great companion and family dog but will need continued proper training. He is a sweetheart that just needs a little love, patience and understanding.
