My Story

Argo is a handsome 1-year-old male German Shepherd with a silky soft coat and gorgeous black-and-tan coloring. He is great with other dogs. He loves to play and wrestle, but he also reads other dogs' body language extremely well and can dial it back when needed. Argo is a jumper, but he is improving over time as he gets more self-control. He is highly intelligent so far, he has learned sit, lie down, and kennel up and is working on a consistent come. He is food motivated, which makes him easier to train. Argo is quiet in his crate overnight and is housetrained. He lies down politely during dinner and does not beg for people food. He stays off the furniture (it would be your choice whether you invite him on or not!). He is a snuggler. He does not have a mean or aggressive bone in his body he is just pure goodwill and sunshine. He would make a lousy guard dog, but a world class companion. At some point in his past, Argo was injured, possibly by being hit by a car. His left rear leg was fractured and didn't heal quite right. In April, Argo had surgery to correct it. The doctor removed several bone spurs and corrected the way the muscle tracked over the bone. He's healing quickly and walking like a champ. Likes include deer antlers, dehydrated liver, peanut butter, and ear rubs. Dislikes include e-collars and Mylar balloons.
