My Story

Rescued this very well-behaved, mild-mannered Frenchie from SEAACA. 32 lbs. He sleeps incredibly well all throughout the night. He is not a barker and he has been going outside to do his business. Archie is a wonderful dog that gets along well with others. How he ended up in the shelter system is beyond our comprehension. He did get impounded with severe heat breathing trouble and we believe he ran away from being scared of the 4th of July holiday fireworks. Archie had BOAS surgery since coming to rescue to help him breathe with ease. BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) is a condition that affects breeds with shortened skull and muzzle, (particularly frenchies) causing breathing difficulties. BOAS is a very expensive surgery (thousands) and most people do not elect to perform this due to financial reasons. Archie is breathing wonderfully since surgery was conducted by our vet. Shelter paperwork said he is between 1-5 years old. Our vet believes he is between 2-3 years of age. We cannot guarantee age but are going off the shelters documentations and our veterinarians evaluation. The rescue has covered the cost of neuter, microchip, harness, permanent reunification id tags, vaccinations DHPP / Rabies, & the BOAS surgery. PLEASE NO CALLS OR TEXTS AS WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS, COMPLETE AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED: saveabowwow.com/rescue/adoption-form If listed, dog is available. Once dog is pending adoption, this page will reflect that information. Fine Print: -All Frenchies must be walked with a harness (never on a neck collar). -The rescue requires adoptive family to obtain pet insurance for coverage of congenital and hereditary conditions. This is for any of the dogs in our rescue identified as a Pug, French Bulldog or similar. Adoption will be finalized once the proof of pet insurance requirement is met. (There are some great policies ranging between $28-32 per month) -We have an open door policy and are always here to discuss anything that may arise with your adoptive pet. After an adoption is conducted please do not hesitate to reach out. -Please no texts or calls, apply if interested. -This breed generally speaking cannot swim and will sink like bowling balls so we do not adopt out to any homes with unfenced pools. Note: All breeds and ages are our veterinarians best educated guess (unless otherwise stated that our group has breeder paperwork)
