Archie is a 7 year old, 60 lb boxer mix who needs a new home. His owners adopted him from the SPCA when he was around 2 years old. He is fearful of strangers and now that they have a one year old child, Archie is fearful of the child and is fear reactive. He acts assertive around new people but has never tried to bite anyone. But with a child this young, the owners feel that he would be much happier in a home without children. Perhaps older, experience children who understand fearful dog, but not young children. Archie gets along fine with the small dog in his current home. He could also be an only dog. He hasn't had exposure to cats. He is crate trained and housebroken. He used to sleep in his crate but doesn't need to be crated at night now. He is also neutered and microchipped. Archie is used to staying outside or n his crate while the owners are away from the house. He has moderate energy and loves walking, hiking but also enjoys his sleeping time! What are is favorite pastimes.... walking, hiking, tennis balls and stealing blankets off couches to make nests . He is probably not a good fit for living in an apartment, He would prefer a fenced yard because he's used to it but he would be ok with regular walks and potty breaks. Archie is a very sweet boy once he trusts you. He loves scratches and treats! He is very smart and knows a few tricks and will do anything for cheese! His first and strongest love is for blankets, which he hoards as often as possible. He loves to make nests and snuggle into them! He is very obedient, doesn't get on furniture and walks well on a leash! He just needs an experienced owner who will love him and help him with his fears! You must contact his owner directly.
