Meet Archie!
We were so curious about his breed, we did a DNA test! He’s a Staffy/Dalmation/Boxer/Lab/Golden/Cocker/Chow/Husky/Shar-Pei/Hound/Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix!
Archie (which means “brave”) was found sopping wet and was brought into a shelter to see if the owners would claim him. He was not claimed, but had a collar that was waaaay too big for his neck. I really feel he had been kept outside chained and managed to get away.
He is so sweet. He is very grateful to be out of the elements and to have food/water available. Archie is ready to find a great home that will make him part of the family and not just a lawn ornament. We do want him to have a fence to play and potty in, but not to live in.
Archie is 1-2 years old and weighs around 50 pounds. He is neutered, updated on all shots, and microchipped. Unfortunately, he did test positive for heartworms, but it is a very slight positive, so he will be given heartworm prevention monthly and should be negative once he’s due for shots, etc in 2-2025!
He is shy at first, but sweet and does well with friendly dogs. He has been good with my cats, but will occasionally chase if they run. Shockingly, he seems to be house/crate trained, but always expect a few accidents in the beginning. He does not like to share his food with other dogs (I mean he was super skinny when rescued, so I don’t blame him). We feed him in his crate and he does well with that.
Archie’s adoption fee is $100 to an approved and loving home (this not cover even 1/2 of his vet bill, etc). All vet records will be given to the adopter(s) at the time of adoption. As well as whatever heartworm prevention is left for a year’s worth (until he’s ready to be retested).
To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com
*We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.*
The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available. We do keep our website and Petfinder updated regularly.
Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply.
Thank you for looking at our rescues in need of amazing homes!
