WANTED: FAIRYTALE ENDING!
After over one year in a foster home, we are asking for your help to find sweet Apple a FOREVER home! At approximately 3 years old, she's a sweet and affectionate companion who's more than ready to fill your life with love and laughter.
Please like, comment, and share! This lady needs her human(s) already!!
From Apple's fosters:
We took Apple in last May. She had born pups weeks before and was back in heat. Apple knew nothing of "house rules" and was desperate to escape by any means necessary (due to heat). She was hungry and knew how to fend for herself. It took months to get her to a point where she understood it was not her job to make herself dinner.
No rescue pet should ever be in foster this long. It's confusing and causes undue stress to the dogs once they finally do find an adopter. Some know they will move on (Stormy, for instance), but most believe they are home...
Apple has learned SO, SO, SOOOOO much since last May. She was essentially feral coming to us but has grown accustomed to napping most of the day and a queenly status among dogs and people!
There are a few important things about Apple if you are considering adopting:
1. She is so exuberant and fun-loving but has yet to differentiate between dogs and people. She will do best with older children and adults without extreme physical concerns.
2. Apple has done some on-leash training and does well with consistent enforcement of that training. Meaning: she can walk on a training lead without pulling you around, but it takes two to tango. She is very strong. We suggest working with her trainer if interested.
3. Apple is unbelievably snuggly. I call her Snugglebear. She will snuggle with you when you are lounging (couch, chair, bed, etc). If you are a 'no dogs on the furniture' person, please do not adopt . She does not take no for an answer.
4. Finally, if any of had you worried, it's important to note that she is deathly terrified of the spray bottle. As long as you can pick up the spray bottle, you can have control over Apple.
Apple's whole bio can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/JwDh8jwbRTeRoPvQ/?mibextid=oFDknk. Our adoption process is outlined on our website: www.kpalrescue.org/pet-adoption/, our Adoption Application can also be found on that website. Further questions about our adoption process can be directed to
[email protected].
KPAL dogs are vetted (age-appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, etc.); there will be an adoption fee of $350 + tax so that we can continue to help other animals in need. As always, donations are also very appreciated. Please share!
