My Story

Meet Apollo! Apollo came back into our care at HSCC when his guardian could no longer care for him. Apollo is a a big baby under his bear like appearance! Although he may look large-and-in-charge, Apollo is actually a lap dog (don't tell him otherwise!) This sweet, sensitive, goofy guy will thrive in a home where he can run, roam, lounge and explore the outdoors! Apollo greatly benefits from exercise and activity to meet his unique needs as a young dog! Apollo loves his hanging out in his crate, wading in the pool, lounging on the couch and gnawing on his heavy chewer toys. Apollo is a young dog who will gladly train for treats and would benefit from an adoptive home that can help him build his confidence in the world! Could you have room in your home and heart for adorable Apollo? Come meet him at HSCC and see if he could be your new best friend! Dogs: Apollo is dog social and has a rowdy play style with other dogs. Have a dog at home? Come visit Apollo at HSCC and if it's a good match we will arrange for a time for you to return with your canine companion prior for a meet and greet prior to heading home. Cats: Apollo lived with cats in a previous home and tolerated them well. Children: Apollo would be most successful in a home with teens and adults. Type: Patient Protector Dog You'll fall in love with this dog because they may be: Cool - Level-headed, mellow, reserved, chivalrous, low maintenance demeanor Tolerant - Gracious, gentle, patient with human and animals Protective - Will make you feel safer home alone or walking down the street You might find this dog difficult to live with because they may be: Opinionated - Discerning, independent of mind, may be resistant to your instructions Suspicious - May be unwelcoming to those perceived as threats to the home and loved ones Large and In Charge - Size and strength may feel impractical to manage at times (Credit: L.E.G.S: Learning, Environment, Genetics, Self - Kim Brophey)
