Ansel

Ansel is a lovable little boy who is likely a mix of long haired Chihuahua and possibly Dachshund or a similar small breed. He was found on an abandoned farm having been attacked by other dogs or a coyote. He was badly wounded but healed up quickly under medical care. Possibly because of his history, he is afraid of being attacked again. This has made him reactive when other dogs make sudden movements and he gets very scared. He would do best alone or with another gentle dog. He is such a joy and an incredibly loyal dog he will make a great addition to any family. Like many of our rescued dogs we are not sure how well house trained Ansel is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. He is very eager to please. Ansel's adoption fee is $275 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue!
