My Story

Hi, my name is Angus....I'm 6 months old....I'm neutered, micro chipped, I've had all of my vaccines....I'm one of the happiest little boys you'll ever meet!!....Guess what I did when I was about 21/2 months old??....With the help of my foster mom....I survived parvo!!....I was so sick, but I knew I could make it!!........................If you have a minute I'd like to tell you more of my story.....I've already been very lucky twice in my young life....You see....my 2 brothers and I were taken to the county shelter (the dog pound) after a lady found us along the side of the road....when she tried to pick us up to get us in her car, one of my brothers nipped her hand....I know he didn't mean to, he was just scared like the rest of us....Anyway, because he did that we had to stay at the shelter for 10 days under quarantine....we were so sick because of fleas, yucky wormy things in our bellies, we were missing a lot of hair, our skin was raw, bleeding, and scabby.... the last day of our quarantine we started getting even more sick!!....now we were throwing up, we couldn't eat, didn't want to drink, and you don't even want to know what was coming out the other end of our bodies....the nice people at the shelter had already gotten rid of our fleas and wormy bellies....but, now they had a bigger problem....I heard Miss Arnette and Miss Jody say something about "parvo"....I think that's why I couldn't even raise my head to look over at my other brothers....I got really worried about them when I didn't see them....I think when I closed my eyes to rest someone came and got them out of the kennel....I got really scared thinking I was all alone....but, then....Miss Jody opened the kennel and picked me up....I was so weak and skinny....she wrapped me in a towel, held me in her arms, and whispered...."Hey little man, I'm so sorry your brothers didn't make it, I'm sorry I couldn't save them, but I'm not going to give up on you, I'm going to make sure you get better."...."All I need you to do is be strong, be brave, and not give up!"...."I'll be with you all the way, we can beat this virus, okay?"....Well, all I could do is wag my tail....the next week was rough....Miss Jody had to poke me a lot with sharp things that had medicine in them....little by little I was feeling better....I did it!....Even though I was the runt, I made it!!....You should see me now....I've gained weight, I've grown my hair back, and I'm full of energy....I've got to make up for lost time................Now all I need is my "forever home"....Miss Jody would really like to keep me....and I would love to stay with her....but, I know she will find me a great home and then be ready to save another little guy like me that needs her just as much as I needed her!!...........If you would like to meet me, please call my foster mom @ (352)316-5155......Thanks, Angus
