My Story

Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Angus. Angus is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Meet Angus! Angus was a stray pup that had a rough beginning alone on the streets. He was on the euthanasia list and we rescued him the day he was scheduled to be put down. Angus is now in a loving foster home and ready for the next phase of his life; a forever family! Angus is what we like to call a supermutt! Our vets estimate he's a pointer / pit bull terrier / border collie mix and he's estimated to be roughly 1 year old and currently weighs 50 pounds. Angus is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own. Angus currently lives with another dog in his foster home and they immediately hit it off on day one of Angus coming home. He's a little temperamental with smaller breed dogs. Angus came into the shelter after living a life on the streets and clearly had a rough early life. He has some anxiety around meeting new dogs, but has never shown aggression. We would say that Angus' energy level is moderate. He loves to play with the other dog in the home, go for runs with his foster dad, go for walks and play fetch, but he also likes his naps too! Angus would prefer a home without cats. Angus has always been great with kids of all ages. We have a 9yr old daughter and he loves playing with her and her friends! We also have family members as young as 2 years old and he does great with everyone. He can get too excited and sometimes jump up on them (typical puppy). Angus loves his walks, but he does pull the leash (I think out of excitement). Normally he is walking calmly beside me by the end of the walk once the initial excitement settles. Angus is fully potty trained and only does his business outside. Angus does really well if left out to free roam. He just relaxes on the couch until his foster family returns home. Angus is really great about sharing his food, toys and treats with the other dog in the foster home. Here's a small blurb about Angus from his foster family: Angus loves people! He loves to play ball/fetch and you can really see the bond being created when you play with him. He will follow you anywhere you go. Working in the office, he’s laying at my feet. Doing laundry, he’s right there watching. Working in the garden, he’s right beside me. He is definitely a great companion! He's such a loving dog and will be the most loyal and loving addition to your family. Interested in learning more about Angus or applying to adopt him?
